Robin Williams: Turn Off The News

"Ladies and Gentlemen, you are being played."

Ann: Hi Robin*, how’re you doin?

Robin: Splendidly, Annie, better every day. I am encouraged at the attention your readers and others are paying to their emotional barometers and working to take steps to avoid any big dips.

Many of you have taken a vacation from the news or at least cut it back to manageable quantities. If you listen to it from the next room where the words are indistinct, notice that all that comes through is a frantic energy loop meant to whip you up into fear, relief, sorrow or even temporary joy, then back again ad infinitum.

Ladies and Gentlemen, you are being played. I should know because, even though calm was never a word applied to my improvised performances, I aimed to make you laugh and realize that things were perhaps not as dire as you may have thought when I started. I knew the difference, and so did my audiences though sometimes I did go over the line

The news programs, however, have an entirely different objective. They are gauged, designed, and executed in a manner to create dependence if not addiction. You can’t possibly turn them off when BREAKING NEWS!!! is just around the corner.

Think about it. Do you feel better or worse after watching these programs? I am not suggesting that you become uniformed ostriches stretched out on a beach recliner with a robo-book, just that you notice what is happening to your internal barometer.

I am learning that Spirit is happy to have me rant and rave and careen all over the galaxy at breakneck speed as long as I don’t traffic in dark energy. On some level I understood those parameters even when I was living, but now I have imbibed the fundamental truth of higher energy. And once that happens, you will no longer be able to tolerate the falsity of lower frequencies.

I ask that each of you tend to yourselves as the precious cargo you are and care tenderly for the child within your innermost being. You would never let a villain assault a child under your care. You would be watchful and protective, allowing exploration and adventure but drawing the line at harmful people or events. Surely you can do no less when the child you watch over is your own precious soul?

If you tend the joy that Spirit has given you, then when hardship comes, sustenance from Spirit will be at hand. Keep vigilance at the front of you mind. Look to those who embody this practice and ask for their help when you need it.

For my money you can’t do better that Elijah Cummings or John Lewis, not to mention Jesus Christ et al, but there are many others who offer the same energy just in different formats. For living models, look to the Dali Lama, and even, though I hate to wade into the political system, Joe Biden, or pick someone within your own sphere or memory that brings out the best in you, for these are angels on earth. You will know them by the joy that overspreads their suffering.
