Gandhi: Blessings

Where Have You Been All Your Lives?

Ann: Mr. Gandhi? Anita* said you have something for the blog.

Mahatmas Gandhi: (Smiling) Not entirely, Ann, I have something for you, and you will have to decide if it could also benefit the readers of your blog.

You have been wont to put yourself out there as Exhibit A, a person who struggles with ego, frailty, lack of courage, and indolence. You are thinking that if you present yourself honestly, others may be moved in the same direction and will receive, as you are receiving, guidance from angels, archangels, and previously incarnated spirits like Richard, Miriam and myself.

It’s a good plan, and I have no problems with the concept, but I am here to say that from a legalistic point of view, there should be balance. If you are to share your foibles on a public forum, why not also show the joy and blessing with which you are surrounded?

It has been a turbulent time, I know, but you have found happiness in solitude, companionship in isolation, and beauty in silence. And all because you have opened to receive the spiritual blessings that hover over each one of us and which will, if requested, descend like manna from heaven to provide our sustenance in almost any life situation we can conceive.

That is a rather broad statement, is it not? So many suffer incredibly grievous loss and unimaginable hardship. How cavalier to think that a simple blessing can wipe the slate clean! And indeed it cannot, but that is not the purpose of a blessing. A blessing lets us know that we are not alone, that, though we suffer, God, Allah, Great Spirit, etc., count as their privilege the sharing of that hardship with us.

You are gradually learning this when you take your recalcitrance to your guides and let them have it over what they are asking of you. It is important not to hold back, for there can be no editing when we talk to Spirit.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that you have found that you are always received, and in that way, you can somehow go back to the exact same situation with a lighter heart.

Ann: That is true, Attorney Gandhi, but I really have no significant hardship, certainly comparatively speaking.

Mr. Gandhi: Yes, your life is a relatively gentle one this time around. What makes you think it was always thus?

Ann: I have no idea.

Mr. Gandhi: I do. We all have had many experiences over many lifetimes. Sometimes, as with yourself in this time, we gather on earth to assimilate what we have learned and to internalize those lessons which we may have been too busy or fraught to recognize in former sojourns on the planet.

I would suggest to anyone reading this journal to spend some time imagining where your life might fit in amongst a string of previous life experiences the particulars of which are now likely shrouded from your memory but their essences still stored in your soul.

Perhaps this is your time to celebrate, perhaps there is a focus to this one life that would make perfect sense if placed in the context of your past excursions in human form. Use your imagination, listen to your dreams, and try to see yourself on a bigger continuum.

You may be surprised at all you can learn from such a simple exercise. I believe you will come away refreshed and reinvigorated to take on your current challenges with an accepting heart.
