Ann: Hi John, are you up for a little sleuth work, prognosticating, and elucidating?

John McCain: Right up my alley, Annie. That blowhard is coming to one of the hardest hit areas in the country to demonstrate that he is invincible, that the whole damn pandemic is a hoax, and that there are a lot of nutsos in this country who will be stupid enough to believe his lies.

But it’s worse than that as Anita* intuits. What he is doing, what he will continue doing from now until the election and beyond, is trying to foment a civil war. That is something he can really get behind because all-out war has only us and them, enemies and friends. If you’re not for him, you’re against him, for him, a slogan to live by.

Unfortunately, these matches of hatred are falling on dry grass, and he will succeed to a large extent. Oh, not in winning the election, but in whipping up crowds into mobs and mobs into vigilantes. The real fires which are scorching the west coast and creating havoc and homelessness barely rate a blip on his radar because he cannot manipulate them, and there is no good photo op to be obtained in the face of such implacable natural forces.

Nevertheless, though his inner wannabe-Mussolini is temporarily in the ascendant, so too are the forces which he is unleashing by virtue of the unvarnished picture of his ungodly soul. More and more people will not be able to turn away from the revealing picture of a man who spreads disease in a pandemic, who incites riots in the face of natural disasters, and who delights in feeding to the best of his ability every dark impulse of the human heart.

He was not always thus. He was once just a self-centered, spoiled, small-time crook and bigot, but as we are, so shall we grow, and that he has been allowed to do.

Not to worry, my friends, it will end, it will end. Not soon enough it seems, but actually at the right time because, in allowing the spectacle of a man of his persuasions to go his length, we begin to see the peril that faces us all if we do not buckle down and turn this country into the beacon of hope and opportunity that it has always claimed to be. 45 is just the logical manifestation of the greed filled one percent that would like to make this country into their own private country club.

He will not succeed, but it will take every one of us to turn back the tide he is inciting. He is not hiding his spots any longer, and this will make him easier to take down, for tyranny visible is tyranny becoming history.

Take heart, let go fear, and go at him and his comrades with everything you have. You may be wounded, even temporarily diminished, but, as Bapu** said, then you will win, for 45 has sown the wind, and now he has no choice but to reap the whirlwind.
