A Gift from Gandhi
Updated: Nov 11, 2019
For two days in a row, Gandhi appeared to Anita (email@example.com). She asked me to see if he had something to say, and indeed he did – and he didn’t pull any punches either so it was kind of a downer for both of us. You know, the "work hard now, prepare for difficult times ahead" talk. Today he came back with a clarification - and a gift.
"The spirit that created the universe is joyful and full of fun."
Ann: Do I understand correctly that you have something further to say?
Gandhi: Yes. I must most humbly apologize for the impression of stern taskmaster that I gave you yesterday. Such was not my intention. I merely meant to prepare you both for the trials to which the joyful path upon which you are embarking may lead you. These trials are not to be taken lightly and thus my entreaties to each of you to take seriously the preparation of your mind, body, and soul for this journey.
What I did not say was that this is the most exciting and fulfilling journey that is available to humankind and that it is the only one which takes us home to our true selves. Yes, it is frightening to many who will therefore seek to derail you. Perspective is necessary to understand the source of these attacks, and perspective is gained by experience not just in this world or lifetime but in all of the experiences gathered at your backs over many lifetimes and worlds you cannot see at this time but which still offer their wisdom to you.
As you move through your current schedules, simply note the opportunities for moving your heart and minds into the perspectives offered by these experiences. You may be surprised and delighted at what you receive, for the spirit that created the universe is joyful and full of fun. You will find that if you practice this little trick you will be able to smile at most irritations and find a kernel of sustenance in the offending circumstance.
So do not take my previous exhortations to mean that a lifetime of tribulation awaits you, for if you are able to practice this approach to life so that it becomes second nature, tribulation’s blows will not land, and that is what I hope for you. I am honoured to be a part of your journeys and remain available for consultation at your pleasure.
