John: Good morning, Ann, thanks for the invite though I guess I was a little pushy.*
But this is important. I want to talk to you about conspiracy theories. Everyone thinks they know the truth, and the other fella is lying – at least that’s the assumption these days.
And yet there is usually a decent way to find out what is what if you go to the source. Then we can argue about how do I know that your source is valid, not to mention my own, because so much is subjective. It takes, research and a willingness to listen to ferret some kind of accountable truth - Ruth Ginsburg could help us here - but it is doable.
However, what is going on today is completely nuts. Crazy stuff is being promulgated without a peep out of those who should – and do - know better. And yet, they will find that they have a tiger by the tail because, while they are delighted to induce their followers to swallow whatever cockamamie stories they make up, sooner or later when they go back to dip a toe into the truth for their own benefit, they will find that they will not be believed and will be thrown out to the mad dogs as fresh meat.
Just look at Bill Barr. I started to say poor Bill Barr, but there is nothing weak or poor about him though he is a lost soul if ever there was one. He is much more dangerous than you average lost soul though because he is not merely compliant or a sycophant as my friend Lindsey has chosen to be, but is instead driving the bus knowingly willingly, and deliberately in the direction of his choosing knowing that he is lying every step of the way to get there. And that, in my book, is downright evil.
Oh he doesn’t see it that way. He thinks he is on the side of the Lord and delivering the goods for the A team which in his mind is the Church Militant. This church needs to take over for us helpless fops and make the decisions that keep us on their version of the straight and narrow, never mind what abuses are perpetrated on us misguided idiots along the way. These can be brushed aside in the furtherance of the Church Militant over the godless.
Many have wondered if Barr is financially compromised, and there may be some of that, but this guy has chosen to die for a misplaced ideal which is to move power from the people who have no idea what they are doing or where they are going and give it to an oligarchical religious structure with strict rules and the means to enforce them.
Ann: This sounds like the return of the Inquisition or its functional equivalent.
John: Yes, it does, doesn’t it? Barr is a true believer, and that makes him the most dangerous of mortals because his sight is set on Lucifer’s return to power.
Ann: I hate to say this, but I kind of liked him, had high hopes for him, but….
John: Yes, everyone did because he is not corrupt in the manner of those he serves, but nevertheless his intelligence and reasonable persona hide a fundamentalist heart. He believes in a top down order based on what he believes to be moral and religious principles, and he thought he could use Trump to implement that system without it being permanently tarnished by corruption.
It will be a hard fall for him when he realizes what he has done, and that is starting now as the reality of the forces he has facilitated and unleashed is being borne in upon him now. Stay tuned, my friends, this show ain’t over yet.
Our mission in the midst of the coming debacle and exposure of the motivations behind the misinformation campaigns is not to throw the baby out with the bath water because there are some golden threads among all that dross. For example,
Ann: Yeah, John, give me an example.
John: I’m about to do that if you can just keep you water hot. We have a bloated and oversized government which has lost much of its efficiency in the service of maintaining its bulk. It has become non-responsive and self-perpetuating. It – and the members of its so-called representative bodies - have forgotten whom they serve. Trump could never have gotten a toe hold if we hadn’t let big government devolve into the non-functioning mess that it is.
The good news is that Joe Biden is not one of those functionaries. He takes his obligations seriously, and he doesn’t suffer fools. This new broom is about to surprise a lot of people. I’m looking forward to the show.
