John McCain: Here He Comes Again, Gotta Love Him

No, that's not John McCain, that's his mother, still fighting the good fight.

"I can only pray that this time we will learn something.

Because it’s there for the learning."

Ann: John, I hear you out there. What do you have to say about what’s going on in the world?

John: Not much, Annie, not much. Not sure I can add anything to the general confusion that this is uncharted territory - which it is for those of us living in the current US of A. No one remembers the Spanish Flu outbreak, certainly I don’t, and we all assumed what with all the advances in medicine, we would never have to go through that again.

I mean we are a lot further along that those shit-hole countries that had Ebola or SARS or MERS or whatever those foreign initials are. After all we’re better than them. Aren’t we?

Well, President Tubby, it seems that we put on our pants one leg at a time just like everyone else in the world. What a shock. And it’s not gonna go away, and it’s gonna lead to a lot of other misconceptions that we with our convictions of elemental superiority may have to rethink. Our food? Where does it come from? Oh, you mean we need farmers? Our medicines? You mean we can’t really cut off other countries who have the raw materials and the manufacturing platforms to provide medicines and technical material that we need to keep up our supposedly superior lifestyle?

I wish some of these hide bound Congressman would get off their duffs and travel to see how other people work and learn and struggle - and provide a lot of us with what we have now. Probably too late now – at least for a while, and they will have to learn another way when they can't get their favorite coffee bean in the morning.

Oh, I know I’m being a horse’s ass, but really, people, can’t we work together, for god’s sake on this one overarching problem that is human not political? Oh, I forgot, it’s a foreign virus, us against them. Really? Who do you think “we” are, not part of the human race? So what? It didn’t come wearing a MAGA hat, did it? Or any other hat, red, green, or purple.

My friends, get on those legislators and hold them to account for allowing the current state of unpreparedness to have developed under the watch of the most heedless president in American history. No, they didn’t create the virus, but they created the response and, more particularly, the lack thereof.

This is a time to be working together. I am counting on my buddy Joe to turn this ship around, but a lot of our people are going to be lost and our business capacity hamstrung in the process. I can only pray that this time we will learn something. Because it’s there for the learning.

My friends, I was not surprised, you may be surprised to learn, that where I am now is just as wonderful as it is cracked up to be. All we have to do is to look up and see how it can be done when love is the motivating force.

So look out for those opportunities, my friends, where you can show someone that love is still here, that caring is not blue or red, and that the Holy Spirit still lives and oddly enough may thrive in this crisis. I can tell you from personal experience that there is nothing like a crisis to bring you face to face with your Maker and bring you to understand what he, you, and world are made of. And it ain’t cream cheese, folks!

Thanks, Annie, appreciate the platform, I needed to get this off my chest!
