We need to look at this, really look at it.
Ann: John,* I understand you want to talk to us.
John: Yes, Annie, I do. To say I am horrified by the actions of many of those in my erstwhile party would be an understatement, but it does no good to scream and yell and throw up our hands and shriek, “Oh horrors!” We need to look at this, really look at it.
It has become clear that the Republican Party is no longer an undivided caucus. This has been coming for many years, but many of us, and I was one, thought that those on the fringes would either stay there or come to their senses. Neither has occurred.
What you are seeing now is the establishment of a new and formalizing force similar to the Know Nothing Party of the 1800’s. The foundational belief of both groups is exclusionary, that is, they define themselves by what they are against. Anti-immigration was and is the basic tenant of both movements so that those f***ers can blame every grievance they have on whatever disenfranchised group they label as “other.”
They then convince themselves - and, God help us, anyone else they can pull into their undertow - that those slackers have stolen their birthright, and, therefore, no action is beyond the pale in order to restore the rightful order to this nation. And, by the way, by immigrants, the current mob has included Afro Americans, regardless of that exquisite irony. God only knows what they call the real Native Americans.
This philosophy has now been outed in spades. Now the light shines where they never expected it would, and that light will eventually cause a break within the Republican Party. Good – and not so good – men and women will have to decide. Now that I come to think of it, the Know Nothing Party.20 might be the perfect name for this recently exposed wing of these erstwhile Republicans.
Though they may increase in power, even perhaps to becoming the majority voice of the party, they will never again stand as the primary governing force in this country because too much water has gone under the bridge. Ask George Floyd and those like him. Not enough of us will be willing to sign on to this naked grab for power at the expense of whoever does not go along for that to happen. I do not mean to underestimate them, for they are dangerous and brazenly seditious, but they are lying through their teeth and that is what is being exposed now via our Idiot In Chief.
I gotta say, I laughed to hear him wiggle and squirm and hang out to dry for everyone and his uncle to see that, indeed, our would-be emperor has no clothes. Others are having to face this awful truth now because it really can’t be “spun.” Even one so far gone as my ole buddy Lindsey will draw the line at publicly trying to nullify an election by intimidation and lies based on not a scintilla of evidence - even though he was willing to cross that line in private.
It is happening, folks, it is happening. Yes, it will get worse before it gets better, but rejoice each time they hang themselves with their own rope. At some point, the absurdity will be too much for rational minds to tolerate, and then we will slowly crawl back to center. Thank God for Joe, he will help it happen as much by contrast as by action – and he will take action.
Take a breath, my friends, it is getting better.

Every time I get despondent I come here and John lifts me back up, you've no idea how wonderful that is. I don't think I have enough THANK YOUS to cover it.
Thanks John, I love hearing from you. These whack jobs seem to have no limit. Many many years ago I use to vote Republican but wouldn't think of it now. Would love to see a new sensible party spring up from all of this that puts the coo coo republicans and even some of the dems on the defensive in red and blue states alike, just to make sure our leaders work for the average person of all stripes and not some blind ideology.
