Mary Magdalene: Sacred Space

Updated: Sep 18, 2020

Ann: Hello, Miriam, Anita* says you want to speak with me. I am taking a day off from news, internet, etc.

Miriam: And that is where I come in, Ann. Our days had no televisions or telephones. We concentrated on the tasks at hand. We moved as we had to move in rhythm with the needs of the day, one thing after the other. Hard work, yes, but oddly no rush, no bombardment such as that that you in this time suffer almost minute by minute.

So I commend your instincts to take the day or some part of it for yourself as best you can. I think you may be surprised – not at how addicted you are to the news, etc. – but at how much peace there is in the world if you can find the time and space to let it in.

This pandemic is a terrible thing on many levels but underneath there are hidden gems if you know where to look. Cleansing rituals offered both individually and to the collective, opportunities to create a sacred expanse where you may find yourself, like the noiseless spider, throwing out filament after filament, surprised and delighted to see where they land and catch.

Critical for this time is silence and solitude, two states that are rare in contemporary life and which the pandemic has made paradoxically both harder and easier to achieve. So the first thing I would suggest is to separate yourself from buildings and sit in nature or walk if the spirit moves you. Look about yourself to see where your soul reaches out and where its essence may find a comfortable home.

We are not alone even when we take ourselves out of our accustomed patterns. In that sacred silence new voices may be heard, in that solitude angels and offerings are free to make their presence known.

It is my hope that each of you can create such a space and then defend it as the holy place it is. Maybe it is not a whole day, maybe an afternoon, maybe just an hour or less. But here is your portal to who you are in the great tapestry of the universe, here is your home, and here you are never alone, never pushed or pulled but blessed as the Divine creation that you are.

Yes, being quiet and really listening is so healing. Also, asking for help in a prayerful way is also helpful to finding our way. I’ve gained so much confidence this reading posts from Ann and other spiritual people. Love it!
