"There will never be a perfect human society,
but, when you think about it, my dears, it could be a lot worse."
Ann: Merlin? Am I making you up?
Merlin: Well not exactly. There might be some truth to the concept because I am made of magic, of spirits, of creative light and crystals that might seem more of fantasy than of “real” life. However, if you simply adjust your concept of “real" just a tad off center, we will come into alignment, and I will be as real to you as anyone else you know.
If you can expand your vision out just a bit further than customary into the cosmos, into the idea, if not the specifics, of quantum physics and quantum reality, the idea of alternate races, alternate universes and alternate realities will not seem so strange.
As indeed they are not. What would be really odd would for the human race to be the only living beings in the cosmos, abandoned on a small planet in the middle of an infinite and otherwise expanding universe.
So suspend disbelief for just a moment, and let us talk about that little planet suspended in space. What you cannot see from your perspective is the affection in which your valiant little world is held, the admiration of those of us in easier dimensions for you who keep coming back to try again under incredibly adverse circumstances.
Think about it. You incarnate and re-incarnate, each time determined to do better and then immerse yourselves in forgetfulness and have to start all over from scratch. Really, if you were a handicapper, you would not put a groat down on those odds.
Add yet, my lovelies, you are making progress, your vision is expanding and you are catching the gremlins at work sometimes before they can get started. For those who have gained toeholds in your societies, you are waking up segment by segment, almost as the sun rises over a darkened landscape every morning, creeping across the horizon until every aspect of creation is within its bright reach.
I come today because I feel your despair and want to ask you to look back to see the darker societies that have come before you and how much opening of hearts there have been to the many peoples on the planet who now have a voice and who did not before.
Yes, there is much to do, but much has been accomplished. The recent darkness has thrown the gremlins into sharp relief where they will, hopefully, be chased from the stage and confined to the dustbin of history.
There will never be a perfect human society, but, when you think about it, my dears, it could be a lot worse. It is getting better, my children, it is. Reach out your hand in communion with those who are beginning to see more clearly, and rejoice that the sun is rising.
