It may appear that that waters are closing in over your heads,
but that is not the case.
Ann: Good morning, Mary, I have felt you here yesterday and this morning.
Mother Mary: Yes, Ann, I have been wanting to speak with you and your readers. As many have noted, we are in the midst of a period of profound transition. Such transitions do not come without a price, but with that price they offer up a time for enormous growth and transformation.
The anguish of tearing down is real. Each of you have watched your government being torn apart bit by bit by forces, note I say forces, not just one man, who try to take “control,” grab it really, because they feel their lives slipping away.
No amount of coddling or reassurance will serve to assuage their terror of not being the top dogs. They know what they have done to others and are terrified or having the same imposed upon themselves. In the process they put the rest of us through the violence of the final crumbling of their resistance to natural and evolutionary change.
In that process other lives are disrupted and torn apart - and not only for the obvious reasons pertaining to the swan song of the ruling classes, but internally also.
Many of you have benefitted, often unconsciously, in one way or another from the patriarchal, hierarchical society currently fighting for its life. You need to take this time to recognize what you have taken, a privilege here or a hand up there, a door opened easily to you that was closed to others.
Those of you giving the support for this society have been allowed to remain largely invisible. You need to stand up in courage and truth and, yes, love, for these are the ways of lasting change.
None of this is easy, but one thing is clear: There will be no going back to “normal,” for too much has irrevocably changed.
The pandemic, among other things, has seen to that. You are headed into the most contested election in your country’s history. You have lost one after the other your bastions of courage and moral authority, John McCain, Elijah Cummings, John Lewis, and now Ruth Ginsburg, to name the most obvious. George Floyd and others have revealed once again the dark underbelly of the foundations upon which this nation was built. Institutions have been corrupted and government coopted.
It may appear that that waters are closing in over your heads, but that is not the case. What is happening is that you are being given a level playing field where new mores, new leaders, new government, and new societal rules can finally emerge. It is not guaranteed, but you can make it so, if not immediately then gradually, with the patience and perseverance that heroes like Ruth Ginsburg have shown us, neither vilifying those who see differently nor backing down from their clear moral principles.
You face a long winter of unparalleled isolation. It is during this time that each of you has the opportunity to create in your own space what you want to see in your country and in the world. The “coincidences” of implosion are inescapable.
What will it take for you to get the message? My dears, you do not want to be like the story of the rabbi on the roof of the flooding house who refused all offers of help because of his conviction that his God would save him. As the house with the rabbi on the roof was sinking out of sight, God said to him, I sent you a canoe, a life boat, and helicopter, what were you waiting for?
We have been shown the error of our ways in unmistakable signs. We are now pushed into isolation and thrown back upon our own resources and our connection with Our Creator. This winter will tell the story. Will we emerge with a deeper conviction of the vision of Christ, a world where responsibility and privilege are two parts of the same whole, where compassion is its guiding force, or will we give in to those who want to take this country back to the dark ages?
I ask each of you to reflect, to pray, and to hold in silence the heart of God within your own being. Take this time as the God given opportunity it is to become the world you want to see.
Come to me, I will help you, and in this way we will change the world. It has been done before. Let us do it again.
