Richard Burton: The Sword and The Sacred Circle

Just as our connection with our Creator is sacred,

so is our connection with ourselves.

Richard Burton: Each of us is given a sword to defend our sacred boundaries. It is this sword that, tip down, is used to mark a sacred circle about our person, psyche, and soul.

Just as our connection with our Creator is sacred, so is our connection with ourselves. Our central core is the communication center with the sacred, and if this becomes clouded, we are lost to a world of victims and victimizers. When we bless and defend our sacred circle, we solidify our contact with our Mother Earth, Celestial Father, and Holy Spirit.

Our circle serves many functions. Not only does it provide a barrier against those who would shutter our light, but it also allows us to calibrate our expanding communication with Source. Though we are of Source and she is of us, we can only tolerate so much contact become of our limited systems.

Gradually, if we are diligent, we can expand our systems to receive Spirit’s voice. It is an awe inspiring journey, both to those experiencing such expansion and to those who watch from afar. It takes much courage not to relapse into fear and block such access. We salute all of you on this journey

I do, however, want to add a note of caution. Such openings can sometimes provide a way in for some less desirable entities. As you know, you are protected by the defense line of your clan, that is, the guides and spirits who surround you, and yet your own sword may need tempering in battle.

While that sounds violent, it is not. Violence is that which aggresses, that which attacks and which has no other interest but the propagation of its own kind. Defensive action is simply the maintenance of boundaries, and this is one of the purposes your sword serves.

May I suggest that you take it out for a spin every now and then? Look about you for those unwelcome intrusions into your own sacred circle and eliminate the threat before it has time to take hold. I believe you know what I mean so I will go no farther there but encourage you to raise your level of discernment as to what is going on around you.

If you do so, I believe that you will find peace and happiness settle in about you as clarity takes the place of porous or undefended borders.

As always, I remain your obedient servant.
