Apostle Peter: Good And Bad

Updated: Jul 23, 2022

“Bad” is not really bad,

it is fear grown powerful by flexing its muscles.

Ann: Peter, Anita* says you have something to say.

Apostle Peter: Yes, Ann, I do. It relates to the dichotomies waging war within the soul of each and every human being on the planet. Saint and sinner in one, that is how we are all constructed. It remains for us to choose, and that you would think that would be the simplest of solutions, just choose good and let bad go.

But it is not that simple because “bad” is not really bad, it is fear grown powerful by flexing its muscles in small ways until we hardly notice when that fear has become the driving force in our lives.

What I come to say to you I say as the one whose fear made a mockery of his devotion to Jesus, whose instinct for survival in the moment trumped his long term place in the Kingdom.

It is that Kingdom, not with a king, queen, and subjects, but the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, Buddha, and Great Spirit, among other exalted Masters, where the love of our Creator is extended to all and allowed to penetrate the force field of fear that every human being develops to survive in this world.

And once it penetrates, the light of God shines on our least attractive attributes. We see our flaws highlighted by the contrast with the unconditional love that surrounds us.

So how do we grow to accept our weaknesses, our self-serving actions, and even our betrayals and still carry on God’s work?

We accept them as part of the human condition. We acknowledge them with a smile and say, “Here we go again.” We turn toward our own foibles with understanding. Then we move past them to make different choices than we did when fear was our master.

So I suggest to you, when fear arises or when you feel the tendency to hunker down into the illusion of your own space, name the fear. Is it fear of death, fear of being alone, fear of loss, illness, abandonment, or ridicule? Then walk into that fear and see yourself living with those circumstances and yet still cleaving to your soul’s purpose, your affirming connection with Spirit. Then see yourself not just surviving but triumphing in the place where once you were held hostage.

We all have these fears. We can choose to let them rule our lives or not.
