Ann: Hi Robin, Anita said you wanted to come by.
Robin: Yes, I have been thinking about you, Annie, you with a gift you value with every beat of your heart but which you do not understand and do not completely accept. It is an interesting paradox, isn’t it, something like my own, though in different colors of course.
What we are doing now, you and I, is trying to connect the experience of life before and after death into one seamless whole in our understanding. We may believe this is the case, but, without remembered experience, that belief is always a little suspect.
You know by now that it is clear to me that I did the right thing for me in leaving when I did, but also clear that I do not want to impose that conclusion on anyone else because each person must take responsibility for their suffering with all of its permutations - including the ripples that will inevitably flow from whatever decision they make - perhaps even overwhelming some of those in their wake.
Yet it is the continuous nature of the thread of life that I want to bring home to you today. We do not stop and we did not begin when we came here. We are works in process, and every road we travel takes us where we need to be. There is no judgment, simply cause and effect, and from some causes come gloriously unexpected effects in terms of humility and understanding, empathy and healing – not just for the person involved but those around us, sometimes even those we do not know. It’s those ripples again.
So today you are hearing from my deep soul self, the part that has accepted the continuity of my life story wherever it may lead, and that is for me a comfort and relief beyond description. We do not need to drive the bus all the time. We have help. We have vision to see backwards and forwards on the path of our life story if we choose to do so.
So go ahead and choose. It will be a good story, I promise you.
