White Feather: Yes, I have asked for your attention so that I can put before your readers a reminder of the foundation that underlies all of our lives and is critical to our ongoing prosperity. That is, of course, Mother Earth.
She is waiting patiently for cleansing movements to roll through the cacophony that has gripped her inhabitants in recent times - most especially since the advent of internet communication. While we have gained connection on one level, in the process, we have lost the elemental basis of communication of one being with other because, though heartfelt expressions can be expressed over electronic means, there is no substitute for face to face, eye to eye, and heart to heart communion.
The illness that has gripped the globe is showing us what we have lost by throwing us back upon our own resources and taking away the critical element of physical contact that is necessary for healthy lives in order to show us what we have lost.
However, one thing that has not been taken away is Mother Earth herself. She invites you to come to her for comfort and rejuvenation. She has never left you, she is right outside your door or window and under your feet in every moment. It is her energy that can rejuvenate this planet and all of its inhabitants.
With the intrusion many centuries ago of established religions, we lost much of the sacred preserved in the rituals of nature-based cultures. In the interim these rituals have been denigrated as primitive, and, indeed they are, but in truth "primitive" should be seen as celebratory rather than obsolete.
Primitive means "that which originates," and it applies when we go back to our roots and make contact with our Source which produces the creative energy that powers the planet. This energy flows from the earth and its environs, the air, the oceans, the stars, sky, and planets and worlds beyond. These have much to teach us in the rituals that we only dimly recall.
This is not, however, reason to despair, for each of you, in your long ago forgotten lives, have lived the truth of these rituals. I ask now that you spend some time quietly asking where you find your resonance. Does the sea call to you? Are you a woman of the plains? Can you see your home in the hills, or cliffs, or mountains? Did you live underground and commune with the fairies in your woodland lives?
If you ask, you will find answers that will feed your soul. Simply take the time to be with your Mother and ask for her sustenance and direction. It is not hard to do. It simply takes noticing where you are, where you feel nourished, and in what forms and places you become whole. The answers may surprise you. They will certainly enrich your lives.
